Flat Stanley Project

Good Evening Everyone,

So this is a special blog.  Your child may have mentioned to you that we have been reading the chapter book Flat Stanley as a class.  In the story, the main character, Stanley Lambchop, wakes up one day and as a result of a falling bulletin board, is now "as flat as a pancake."  While on his many  "flat" adventures, he is invited to visit a friend in California.  His parents, unable to afford the flight to California decide to send him in the mail.  Fortunately, he arrives safely!
We are about to embark on a very exciting project called "The Flat Stanley Project." Here's how it works....
We will be mailing a photocopy of Flat Stanley to as many people in as many states as we can (friends and family.)  For example, I have friends and family in most of the states in New England so I will mail them a copy of Stanley along with directions for decorating him.  I will ask that Stanley be colored in in a way to represent the state in which they live.  I will also invite people to write state facts on the paper around Stanley's picture. I will then ask them to mail Stanley back to us at school.
When the Stanleys arrive at school we will not only keep track of which states we have received - helping our geography skills - but we will also be learning all about many different states!
So here's where I need your help! I have about 20 states covered and I know Mrs. Vail can do another 5 at least...
Do you have friends or family in another state or maybe even another country? Do you think they'd be willing to help us and teach us about their state or country?
If so - please send me a note or an email with their mailing address or email.  I am hoping to mail Stanely out by next weekend!
Thanks so much for your help!! I'm really looking forward to this project!
Good Morning!

I hope everyone had a great weekend and had fun at the carnival! It was so fun to see so many of you there :)
Keep an eye on the blog - I will be posting about our upcoming "Flat Stanley" project this week!
