We had a great day!
In reading we reread the story "Because of You." This story explains that peace begins with just one person- you! We reviewed the vocabulary words from the story - kind, precious, share, care and feelings. This morning we had the opportunity to go to the computer lab as a class to work on Spelling City. Everyone was able to go on either a computer or an iPad and get in some practice with their spelling words. We continue to discuss and read fairy tales. Today we read "Hansel and Gretel," and charted what we already know about fairy tales and what we want to learn. In math we reviewed adding more than two addends and number stories. In religion we took the time to observe my personal favorite saint -Saint Francis- whose feast day is today. We discussed that while he is most known for his love of animals and his gentle ways, he is also known as the inventor of the Christmas creche. In honor of Saint Francis we watched a short video of him. All students will bring home a mass card with his picture and prayer. As a class, along with help from Mrs. Z, we are learning his prayer in the form on the popular hymn.
