Pumpkins

Good Afternoon!
We had a great day today.  In reading we started a new book in the text -"The Elves and the Shoemaker."  The students loved reading this because it fits in with our fairy tale unit too!  We had reading groups and read a decodable book and answered comprehension questions in complete sentences.  In math we continued to work on place value.  We started some science work based on pumpkins!  I will ask everyone to bring in one small to medium sized pumpkin by next Monday.  Please not a mini pumpkin and not a huge one.  We will be dissecting them and doing experiments ( weight, circumference, counting seeds, sink/float.) over the next two weeks.
