Good Afternoon!

We had a great day today!

Once again we met all of our goals.  In reading and writing we inferred the message of a text, made and wrote about connections with characters, discussed new words such slob, revolting and hollered and learned about how to choose a "just right" book during independent reading.  We worked on fact families in math.  In religion we reviewed the seven sacraments and learned how Jesus is present in all of the sacraments.  In social studies we read a Scholastic News magazine about bullying.  We even did some more work in science with apples!  It was definitely busy!!!

I would like to let you know about a project we will be working on this year in religion.  One of our 8th Grade students has organized Prayer Partners for the entire school.  It will work in such a way that younger students will be paired with older students.  Our class will be working with 8th Grade students and meeting each month for projects and prayer sharing.

Our first project will be making an Intention Box.
We need your help for this project. Please send in a few items to decorate a 4 x 3 inch box which has been provided for us.
Here are some suggestions:

*Inspirational words (cut from magazines or printed) such as:

                   peace

                   caring
                   sharing

                such as:

Thank you for all your help!
